Effective today - July 1, 2009 - the cost of a Colorado marriage license has increased from $10 to $30. Yes, it's a large increase but the national average is $35 and Colorado did have the second cheapest fee in the nation, Massachusetts is only $4. On the bright side, at least you're not getting married in Minnesota where a license costs $100.
The additional revenue generated by the increase will be used to fund the Colorado Domestic Abuse Program which support services at local community-based domestic abuse programs throughout Colorado.
